Five a Day

Five a Day is a stunning new dance performance created for Springs Dance Company by five cutting edge choreographers. Designed to inspire and challenge young people, Five a Day promises to be both entertaining and compelling.

Whilst we are all being told to eat five portions of fruit and vegetables a day, this performance challenges us to look for and practice a different kind of fruit. The show is based on the ‘Fruits of the Spirit’ which are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Five a Day explores the place of such values in our daily lives and provides a unique chance for young people to reflect, whilst being captivated by a beautifully crafted performance.

In its thirtieth year, Springs Dance Company was delighted to be working with five dynamic and talented choreographers to create this exciting, curriculum linked performance for secondary schools.

Five a Day is designed for secondary schools in particular, but will be enjoyed by adults and children alike. The show can be accompanied by a workshop or series of workshops in church, school, theatre, festival or community settings.

Well structured, dynamic curriculum-linked workshops that encourage, motivate and enthuse teenagers to perform and choreograph whilst being technically challenged.
