Probably the best dance I’ve seen in any school, ever!

Springs Dance Company specialises in combining Religious Education (RE) with Dance and Citizenship. SDC works with and performs to people of all ages, abilities and faiths.

SDC helps young people learn about and learn from the Christian Faith through workshops, performances and assemblies that are energetic and engaging.

Much of the content and style of the company’s performance and education work intends to engage young people by addressing current moral and social issues.

A typical school visit would include a performance assembly followed by dance workshops for selected children. A typical residency includes the above daily and culminates in a performance by pupils.

Alternatively many schools opt for a performance. Five a Day was created specifically for secondary schools, Bread of Life can link with curricular activity, and our Christmas show Journey of the Magi is a favourite with both students and teachers.

Springs Dance Company also teaches workshops suitable for GCSE and A-level dance students.

Footprints, based on the poem by Mary Stevenson, is one of the very popular workshops SDC offers for Secondary Schools and has been taught in schools in England and Germany.

That was cool!
