School inspector describing a children’s performance after a 6 week residency with Springs Dance Company Springs Dance Company specialises in combining Religious Education (RE) with Dance and Citizenship. SDC helps children learn about and learn from the Christian Faith through workshops, performances and assemblies that are fun, energetic and engaging. A typical school visit would include a performance assembly or collective worship assembly followed by dance workshops for several class groups. A typical residency includes the above daily and culminates in a performance by school pupils. Special projects include our brand new creation The Selfish Giant, The Wemmick Story, and a child bereavement project entitled The Loss of Someone Special based on Doris Stickney’s popular children’s book Waterbugs and Dragonflies. The performance, discussions and workshops enable children to discuss the difficult issues surrounding loss. All-time workshop favourites for Primary Schools are workshops based on Creation, Narnia and Exodus. SDC can also provide tailor made workshops, performances and residencies to suit individual schools.
