The Wemmick Story

The Wemmick Story is a magical production of dance and theatre based on the much loved children’s book You Are Special by Max Lucado.

The performance follows the heart-warming story of a wooden creature named Punchinello as he discovers that he is a wonderful and unique creation, made very special indeed.

The Wemmicks are all wooden people who live in Wemmick Village. All day long they go around giving each other stickers - big gold stars “BLING!” for pretty and talented Wemmicks, and grey dots “BLEURGH!” for Wemmicks that are a bit rough at the edges. Punchinello keeps finding himself being given grey dot stickers, and the more he gets, the worse he feels.

One day, he meets Lucia, a Wemmick who amazingly has no stickers at all. She directs him towards their Maker, Eli, and Punchinello has an encounter that will begin to change his life forever as he learns the true meaning of the words “you are special”.

Choreographed by Suzannah McCreight with spectacular designs by Anna Jones and set to beautiful music by Jeremy Clay, this melting pot of creative ideas promises to deliver a truly memorable performance.

The Wemmick Story is a 30 minute presentation that is delivered with various workshop packages. You need 6m width × 6m depth on which we will lay our floor, set, lights, etc. For more information, please contact the office.
